Working conditions
Many geographers in higher education institutions across the UK, including Fellows and members of the Society, are affected by ongoing disputes based around their working conditions (pay, equality, casualisation and workloads) and pension provisions.
The Society recognises and respects the legal and moral right to undertake industrial action, and accepts that aspects of our work that are only possible due to generous contributions from many members of the academic community, may be delayed or interrupted.
However, as a registered UK charity that is not a party to the disputes, the Society does not take a declared position with respect to the disputes.
